REMARKS:
Very bad Mitchell imitation !

The body was copied in such way that even the two screw holes for the slider plate were copied, however if you look at the pictures of the inside of the body, there is no slider at all, how funny to see how this reel was copied in such detail and the holes not being used in the final product. This is realy shamefully copying behaviour of the Japanese in the sixties.

The lube hole is missing here, probaly done on purpose to reduce the number of parts and make this reel as cheap as possible.

Yep, for sure made in the country of the rising sun.

Not an exact copy of Mitchell, the handle looks very similar, but the screw tread is made on the main gear and not on the handle as with the Mitchell 300 series.

Oh no, just two gears, this is really a bad copy. The main gear drives a slider for the line winding system, no planamatic or elliptic oscillation, just up and down of one rotation of the main gear. The pinion gear is made of nylon, very cheap indeed and of course this made the rotation somewhat smooth. However this is not good quality, I wonder how many of these reels still work today. Of course no ball bearing or needle bearings, the main gear is just inserted in the cover and had lots of play.

Real Japanese nylon gear, were can I order a spare one ?

Main gear made from metal, mistake ?

Slider which is driven by the main gear, silder moves one time up and down at each turn of the handle. Oh no, the slider is also made of nylon, it had to be real cheap !

More detail of the slider: The slider is connected to the main shaft with a small screw, don't use too much force. Also observe that the main shaft is inserted directly into the body, no steel pipe is used to support the main shaft, it had to be cheap, so any part not needed is skipped.

No steel pipe !

Details of Anti-retour, like original its not silent and very simpel in its construction, however too many parts are used, could be more simple.

Rotor system: Of course no ball bearing or needle bearings. Six plastic ring are used to suppress any play between the rotor and houding. The shaft is inserted in the body and the rotor just goes over this, than the six plastic rings follow and than the ring with the bail trip notch. This last ring has inner screwtread and and be tuned a bit in such way that the tripping point of the bail can be changed a little. The assembly is finally secured with a single nut. Its simply, cheap solution, but I think it will not last long. Of course another question is, are these parts still original, specially the plastic rings ?????

Oh my god, the roller guide has been damaged by the nylon line, this is for sure no Mitchell Quality.

The bail trip is not same as Mitchell, this one looks very delicate and the spring can brake at the next cast.....

Whahahahahaha, how can you fish with this, the roller guide is completely torn in, the previous owner must have lost a lot of fish due to breaking nylon.

Japanese high tech bail system.

The clicker of the spool, in the first images you can see how the drag knob looks, its similar to Mitchell and used a similar drag spring, of course the spring is almost flat so the drag is very bad. But the clicker is the worst, it almost blocks the drag independend of any setting of the drag knob. The drag on this reel is the worse drag I ever seen, its 10 times worse than the drag of a Crack 100, no forget it , you can't compare it with any reel, its so bad, this is a criminal copy. I regret all the poor fisherman who bought this reel and had to fish with this reel until a really big fish was hooked.......and of course lost. This reel was made with only one purpose, just to sell reels to the poor fisherman who did not know better, this reel was probaly much cheaper than the original Mitchell 300, but it was sure not made for the pleasure of the fisherman. This reel is a fine example of the criminal copying actions of the Japanese fishing industry in the sixties, today the japanse fishing reel company's are the largest in the world.
