REMARKS:

I bought this reel € 89.50 at Martin Hengelsport Fly Fishing Outfitters in Rotterdam, I believe it was in 2004.
I use this reel for pike fishing with a Thomas  & Thomas flyrod which I built myself. This set also is used for trout at the OVM lake when there is a lot of wind. Before I bought this reel I was using an cheap Vision Composite 69, also known as the DANICA traditional reel in the UK ( or Compo 69 reel it is sometimes called). I changed it for this Orvis because that DANICA reel was a piece of $#%@$#, my line always jammed between spool and housing, I bought that DANICA reel in a flyfishing shop in Eskilstuna,Sweden in 2000. Of course this Orvis is much heavier, but its works very well. In a fly fishing reel test of May 2004 of the magazine Trout Fisherman the Orvis reel took place 8 out of 21 reels.
The reel got 70.5 points out of 100.
In march 2008 I catched a large brown trout in excelent condition at the OVM lake in Holland with this reel and Thomas  & Thomas flyrod. The trout was catched during extrem weather conditions which seems to work at the OVM lake. Of course I forgot my camera :-(
