REMARKS: | Reel is in very good condition, on a scale 1 - 10 its getting an 8. This reel has planamatic winding system, just like its little brother 408, so this reel is very good, planamatic drive makes nice windings of your nylon. |
The Mitchell 406 is a very good reel for heavy fishing applications in fresh and light fishing in salt water. If you are careful with these 306 and 406 reels they will serve you a lifetime.
It is strange that Mitchell don't make this reel anymore in a modern style reel with the same quality. Today Mitchell only makes spinning reel in China which can not compete with the reels they made in 1980 like this 406.
