| REMARKS: | Mitchell 324 were the budget version in the Mitchell range, this reel had a price tag of Dutch guilders 39,75 in 1974. This reel was about two times cheaper than the Mitchell 300, the most sold reel in world. The Mitchell 324 was produced in large numbers and sold very well. It was also the first reel of my brother Bert who used his Michell 324 a lot, until he bought the real thing, the Mitchell 300. The reel is older than 1978 as it has the older bail system which was changed in 1978.

The reel in the picture has a special sticker, the text is: Bosschardt-Müller Luzern.
This sticker makes the reel somewhat more interesting as there is a small story behind it.
This sticker was probaly added by the local fishing shop Bosschardt-Müller in Luzern, I do not know if this fishing shop still exist.
Another collector has reported to me he has an old catalog of Bosschardt-Müller, so this could also have been the agent for Mitchell in this area.
The reel was original bought by a dutch family on Holiday in Swiss as the following text explaines:
De molen is van mijn opa geweest. En je bent inderdaad heel goed op de hoogte, want ik verwacht dat hij hem zelf in Luzern heeft gekocht. We hebben namelijk vroeger 5 jaar gekampeerd in Sempach. Dat ligt 12 km. van Luzern af. Het is inderdaad een Mitchell-molen. Nummer 324. Het registratienummer is 6066860. Het bruine vlekje is een restant van plekband. Hiermee zal de lijn aan de molen vastgeplakt. Ik heb het inmiddels weggekrabt. Mijn opa was een echte liefhebber en verzorgde zijn molens goed. Dat houdt in dat ze ook goed in vet werden gezet.
