1.Introduction.
This Mitchell 300 was in very bad shape when I bought it. The main gear and secundairy gear had broken teeth, so they needed to be replace by spare gears from my Spare Part stock.
The outside of the reel was also in bad condition, so I decided to paint the body. I was not satisfied with the paint job on the rotor of the Pink Lady, this was redone in the X300 version made in 2007.
This reel was first built to the Mitchell Pink Lady in 2006, in 2007 this reel was rebuilt to the Mitchell X300.
In 2010 the reel was modified to have a large ball bearing in the main gear.

2. Mitchell Pink Lady.
This reel had hardly original parts, only the body , the rotor and some small parts are original. Also the side cover had to be replaced as there was to much play in the main gear axis.
The original handle was bend and had to much play, it was replaced by another defect handle which was modified by two pieces of aluminium.
The result is that the handle is much more balanced by the heavier weight and the reel turns smooth with the modified handle.
Also the plastic knob has been modified, it has been shortened and a special metal bushing was inserted.
The handle has now zero play and holds much nicer than an original Mitchell handle.
There will be also less tear and wear of the handle ( a known Mitchell problem) because of the metal bushing inside.
